Design Structural Engineer – This opportunity would suit a talented graduate engineer who: has 2-4 years post-graduate experience; is seeking greater responsibility and a greater variety of work; is working towards chartered status; enjoys being challenged and finding solutions; shares our passion for community and the environment; wants to be involved in every aspect of how the company is run; and is keen to participate to a genuine team working environment. You will have acquired key skills of designing in various structural materials and for various building types and will be a good communicator both verbally and in writing.

As a Structural Design Engineer, you will:
Design and analyse structural systems for a variety of projects.
Work collaboratively with architects, contractors, and other engineers.
Utilize industry-leading software to develop innovative solutions.
Ensure compliance with UK building regulations and industry standards.
Support the preparation of technical reports and design documentation.

What We’re Looking For:
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience in structural design using steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
Proficiency in design software such as Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of UK building regulations and Eurocodes.
A proactive mindset with excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. This key role will involve working on a variety of exciting projects, specifically focusing on drainage, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), roads and pavings, and earthworks. You will play a leading role in the design, analysis, and delivery of these infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and delivery of drainage systems, SuDS, roads, pavings, and earthworks for the various civil engineering aspects of all of our projects.
• Oversee project teams and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
• Ensure all designs are in line with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and the delivery of project requirements.
• Carry out site inspections and assessments, ensuring the effective implementation of designs.
• Produce technical reports, specifications, and documentation as required.
• Support business development activities and assist in the preparation of bids and proposals.

Skills & Experience:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a recognized institution (e.g., ICE) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on drainage, SuDS, roads, pavings, and earthworks.
• Proven experience in managing and delivering complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of relevant design standards, regulations, and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Infodrainage).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
