Edge Structures was formed in 2005 to provide structural engineering design and consultancy services to clients in the UK and overseas and has developed a strong reputation for quality and imagination in its design approach.

Prior to the formation of Edge Structures many of our staff previously held senior roles in large organisations and shared a desire to apply their experience and skills more directly to projects. Through this approach, we have developed a wide portfolio of projects across the UK and overseas and in most major sectors.

We have completed large and small projects in a wide range of sectors, using all structural materials and forms and for clients of every type. We aim to place the most appropriate emphasis between economy, elegance and efficiency on to all of our designs according to the needs and wishes of our clients.

The success of our approach is borne out by the wide range of projects that we have carried out in all sectors and by the number of repeat commissions that we receive.

Edge Structures is a team of highly motivated and skilled structural engineers who have a passion for creating sustainable structures and for designing in aesthetics and economy into each of our projects. Our culture is one of enjoying what we do in a collaborative and innovative environment.

We operate in an open and informal working environment which encourages younger engineers to take responsibility while also benefiting from senior input throughout. Several of our team members have worked together in previous practices and this leads to a strong culture of collaboration and teamwork.

The team ethic at Edge Structures goes beyond what we do as engineers on projects. We share a passion for making a contribution to the wider society which is borne out by the work that we do with and for the charities that we support. At the same time the experience we gain working to benefit others encourages an even greater sense of team cohesion when working on engineering projects.

The projects we take on are extremely varied due to our collective range of experience. We have designed furniture and sculpture as well as stadiums, residential, office and retail developments, new build and refurbishment.

We are flexible in our approach to the projects that we undertake with no project being too small if it fits with our overall profile and aspirations. At the same time we undertake projects with values up to £100m. Innovation is a key feature of our work and we find we can apply this to both large and small projects and for a variety of reasons. This approach has lead to us securing commissions for a number of high profile schemes
