John Hampden Grammar School, High Wycombe

Due to the ongoing growth of the John Hampden Grammar School we were commissioned to provide civil and structural engineering services for a new 3-storey teaching block, comprising 15 classrooms and amenity space.

The building is located on campus and the structure – a steel frame with precast concrete floors – is designed to minimise the construction time on site (relying on off-site fabrication as much as possible) to deliver the block within the requested timeframe.

Particular attention is paid to sustainability, resulting in a soakaway/swale design for the storm water and the use of timber panels where possible.
