This listed building fronting Cheapside houses banking halls on the lower floors and offices above. The offices were upgraded while the banking halls were still in operation and alterations included rearrangement of cores and rationalisation of floor space while new plant was added to the roof areas. The logistics of working on this island site were complex due to noise and delivery restrictions and the need to keep the remainder of the building operational while the works were progressing above.
